Singapore


Mr. Seah joined UOBVM in 1997. As Managing Director / CEO, he is responsible for the overall profit and loss, fund administration, investment and divestment. In addition, he is a member of the ESG Committee. He has served on the board and Audit / Compensation / Nominating Committees of publicly listed companies such as Wuxi Pharmatech (NYSE), Ningbo Sunrise Elc Technology (SZSE) and Sunvic Chemical (SGX), among others. In addition, he holds board directorship of Ruangguru and Halodoc.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Mr. Seah has held the positions of engineer, marketing manager, general manager and managing director of multi-national companies and has been based in Malaysia, USA and China, in addition to Singapore.

Mr. Seah holds an Executive MBA from Tsinghua University in Beijing, a Master of Science (Electrical Engineering) from University of California, Los Angeles (“UCLA”), and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Honours) from the National University of Singapore. In addition, he is a CFA charterholder and a registered member of Asset Manager Association of China (AMAC).


Mr. Yeo has over twenty-five years of experience in private equity investment gained in ASEAN and China countries. He also serves on the ESG Committee and oversees the strategy for UOBVM’s responsible investment approach and ESG initiatives. He joined UOBVM in 1996 and, now as Executive Director, is responsible for fund raising, deal sourcing, investment execution, monitoring and divestment. In addition to leading due diligence and working closely with portfolio companies, he has served on the board of publicly- listed and private companies, including Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, Mermaid Maritime, Sunvic Chemical, Tiong Woon Corporation, BT Cocoa, F&B Nutrition and others.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Mr. Yeo spent six years in corporate finance, working for Smith Barney Shearson, HG Asia (Singapore) Pte Ltd and N M Rothschild & Sons (Singapore) Ltd, where he advised clients in Asia and China on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, equity fund raising and initial public offerings. Mr. Yeo started his career in the audit division of Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants in New Zealand.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a double major in Accounting and Marketing from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.


Ms. Thoh has more than twenty-two years of experience in private equity investments and has been with UOBVM since 2003. She is responsible for making investment recommendations and decisions, monitoring of portfolio companies, seeking divestment opportunities, as well as fund raising activities. She has served or observed on the board of companies in various sectors including life sciences, EV battery, artificial intelligence in business and in education, ecommerce, nanotechnology, IoT solutions for asset tracking, food and beverage, and has experience investing in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, and USA.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Ms. Thoh spent more than ten years at Singapore EDB Investments (“EDBI”) managing its life science venture funds. During her stint at EDBI, Ms. Thoh spent one year in the Silicon Valley as Director (Investments) of its life science VC fund, and close to one year as Vice President (Business Development) of a Singapore-based biologics contract manufacturer.

She holds a Master of Professional Accounting from Singapore Management University, Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, and a Bachelor of Medicinal Chemistry degree from University College, London. She is a member of CPA Australia, and a Chartered Valuer and Appraiser (CVA) charter holder for business valuation.


Paul has over twenty years of experience in private equity investment and he has been with UOBVM since 2000. He is responsible for fund raising, deal sourcing, investment valuation, structuring and divestments. Paul has served on the board of several public listed companies and private companies in the ASEAN and China region including China XLX Fertiliser Limited (SGX), China Energy Limited (SGX), Unionmet (Singapore) Limited (SGX) and AA Group Holdings Limited (SGX).

Prior to joining UOBVM, Paul worked for Mizuho Financial Group / Fuji Bank Limited from 1997 to 2000 providing corporate and commercial banking services to companies in Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. Before that, he spent 2 years with DBS Group's corporate and commercial lending for Singapore companies.

Paul graduated with honours from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor's degree in Business (Financial Analysis). He is a CFA charterholder since 1999 and is a member of CFA Institute.


Tien Tat has close to thirty years of experience in banking and spent more than twenty years in UOB developing banking business for UOB in the Mekong region, in particular Vietnam and Myanmar. He is currently responsible for deal sourcing, investment valuation, structuring and divestments at UOBVM. 

Prior to joining UOBVM, Tien Tat was with United Overseas Bank as the Country Manager for Vietnam, and was based in Ho Chi Minh City since 2001. He was the lead manager in UOB’s equity participation of 20% stake in a Vietnam local bank known as Southern Commercial Joint Stock Bank and also served on its board. 

As the former President of the Singapore Business Group in Vietnam, Tien Tat is active in the business community in Mekong Region. In 2010, he initiated an Interest Free Loan programme for more than 600 university students in Vietnam under the UOB Interest Free Loan Programme. Most recently in 2014, he set up a UOB University Scholarships Programme that will benefit 45 students in Myanmar.

Prior to joining UOB in 1996, Tien Tat spent four years in SME financing with Mayban Finance in Singapore. Tien Tat graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a Bachelor degree in Banking and Insurance.


Clarissa’s professional career of more than 20 years combines both investment and operational finance experience. She is an experienced private equity investor and venture capitalist with an active role from deal sourcing and due diligence to deal execution. She plays a key role in driving UOBVM’s impact investments in South-East Asia and is involved in technology investments in the region. She also serves on the ESG Committee and oversees the strategy for UOBVM’s responsible investment approach and ESG initiatives.

Prior to joining UOBVM, she was with General Electric Company (“GE”) in its Financial Management Program. Whilst at GE, she worked with various GE business lines in Asia, in functional roles of project finance, business development, financial planning and analysis, with management award recognition.

Clarissa holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from National University of Singapore and is a CFA charter holder.


Kate has more than twenty years of experience in strategic investment and private equity management and has been with UOBVM since 2005. She is responsible for investment into private companies in the ASEAN and China region, monitoring of portfolio companies and divestment activities.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Kate was Planning & Investment manager at PSB Corporation responsible for strategic investments in education sector and also investment in small and medium enterprises in Asia.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences degree from National University of Singapore and has completed the CFA program in 2001.


Huan Xi has been with UOBVM since 2014. He is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, performing due diligence and monitoring portfolio companies.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Huan Xi was with Partners Group’s value creation team in Singapore, focusing on global private equity investment opportunities in the Industrials sector. Before that, he was with Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency where he managed the acquisition of training simulation systems and technologies for the Singapore Armed Forces.

Huan Xi holds a Master of Science degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Summa cum laude) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Huan Xi is a CFA charterholder.


Charles has over 9 years of experience in private equity investments and has been with UOBVM since 2016. He is responsible for deal sourcing, performing due diligence and deal execution, as well as monitoring of portfolio companies.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Charles was an associate director at Point Hope Group, a private equity fund specializing in buyouts of mid-sized businesses in Southeast Asia and South Korea, where he performed investment sourcing, deal execution and portfolio monitoring covering healthcare, food & beverage and education sectors, as well as supporting fund-raising activities. Charles began his career in the Republic of Singapore Navy as a scholarship recipient and served as second-in-command of a ship, leading a team of over 70 ship crew through multilateral exercises across the region, and served a deployment tour for counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden off the Somalian coast.

Charles graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Master of Natural Sciences and Bachelor of Arts as top student in his cohort. Charles also holds an MBA from Imperial College London and was placed on the Dean’s List.


Jeff joined UOBVM in 2014 and has close to sixteen years of experience as an audit professional, including ten years in the banking and financial services sector. He is responsible for the risk management function of UOBVM and supports the investment screening, evaluation and due diligence process. In addition, as an ESG Specialist for UOBVM, he supports the ESG Committee in driving the integration of ESG strategy for the Company and its Funds.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Jeff was an audit manager with UOB Ltd, where he managed and led local and overseas audits across the Bank’s Operations and non-banking subsidiaries in Asset Management, Investment Banking and Insurance. Before that, he was an internal auditor with AIG, Inc., undertaking insurance audits.

Jeff is currently a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and holds a Chartered Accountant (Singapore) designation. He is also a Fellow member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.


Amy has over eight years of combined experience in healthcare commercial operations, healthcare industry development, and private equity and venture capital (PEVC). Amy is currently responsible for the end-to-end investment process from deal origination to exit, predominantly for the healthcare sector.

Prior to UOBVM, Amy had pre- to post- MBA stints at Pavilion Capital where she supported the healthcare team’s Fund-of-Fund and Direct Investment deals; CMIA Capital Partners, a Control and Growth Equity firm in Singapore; and SGInnovate, a Deep Tech investor.

Prior to this, she spearheaded and led multi-channel marketing and digital marketing functions for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in Singapore; and was part of GSK Singapore’s pioneering Market Access team. Amy started her career in Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), where she was responsible for developing Singapore’s biomedical sciences industry and attracting foreign direct investments.

Amy holds a Masters of Business Administration from INSEAD, and is a Louis and Evelyn Franck Endowed Award for Excellence scholarship recipient. She also holds a Bachelor of Bioengineering from National University of Singapore (NUS), and Minor in Technopreneurship, as part of the NUS Overseas Colleges (Silicon Valley) program.


Spencer has over eleven years of combined experience in strategy planning, corporate development and portfolio management within the life sciences and healthcare industry. Spencer is currently responsible for the end-to-end investment process of healthcare deals, from deal origination to portfolio company value creation and exit.

Prior to UOBVM, Spencer worked as a management consultant in Deloitte and IQVIA and was involved in projects spanning across market entry and access strategy, strategy planning and business reviews. Spencer has also worked in Menarini and Esco Ventures, focusing on acquisitions, in-licensing, divestitures and due diligence of pharmaceutical and biotech opportunities.

Spencer holds a Bachelor (Hons) in Bionengineering and a Minor in Business from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.


Foong Leng has more than twenty years of experience in accounting, financial, Information Technology and company secretary matters, mainly in the service industry such as resale trade, retail and investment. She has been with UOBVM since 2008 and she oversees the finance and administrative operations as well as risk management/assessment, compliance and regulatory reporting. 

Prior to joining UOBVM, Foong Leng spent seven years in The Esplanade Co. Ltd; and was involved in the pre-opening set-up of the Esplanade, Theatres on the Bay, and was part of the team that defined policies and procedures, evaluation of and implementation of accounting and retail systems. She was with Times Publishing Limited for three years and assisted in the development and implementation of the retail system for Times, the Bookshop. 

She is currently a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and a fellow member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Business Administration, issued by Manchester Business School, the University of Manchester.


Shirley has over fourteen years of Finance and Operations experience in Private Equity Funds, Venture Capital Funds, Hedge Funds and Mutual funds. At UOBVM, she heads the Fund Administration team, facilitating Fund-related Administration and Accounting, AML and Valuation.

Prior to joining UOBVM, she was with Openspace Ventures Pte. Ltd., a Venture Capital Firm and oversaw its Finance function. Before that, she spent close to five years at Crescent Fund Management Pte Ltd, a Private Equity Firm where she managed the Operations of the Firm, including Fund and Investment Operations, Corporate Governance and Investor Communications.

In addition, Shirley also has significant experience in Fund Accounting and Administration at Apex Fund Services (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Vastardis Capital Services, Citibank N.A. and State Street Bank and Trust Company.

Shirley graduated with honours from Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor's degree in Business (Banking and Finance).


Kendrick has close to ten years of experience in PE/VC investments, mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and business valuations. Kendrick is currently responsible for the end-to-end investment process from deal origination to exit, predominantly for impact deals that improve the lives of the livelihood for the Base of the Pyramid population.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Kendrick was at EDBI, the venture arm of the Economic Development Board of Singapore, where he focused on investing into promising local companies on the cusp of digital and technology driven transformation. He also had a stint with ST Engineering’s M&A team where he sourced and evaluated targets in the healthtech, smart cities and defense verticals. Kendrick began his career at KPMG Deal Advisory as a scholarship recipient, where he performed business valuations and financial modelling.

Kendrick graduated with First Class Honours in Accountancy and Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University’s double-degree program and was awarded the DBS Gold Medal for finishing top of his class in Business Administration. He also holds the Chartered Accountant (CA) certification.

Indonesia


Adhi has over ten years of experience in investment banking and private equity. Adhi is the Chief Representative Officer of UOBVM's office in Indonesia. His responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with UOBVM's Indonesian investors, entrepreneurs and venture capital funds; deal sourcing and providing relevant inputs and assistance to the Investment Team in Singapore. He also manages the day-to-day operations of the Indonesia Representative Office in Jakarta.

Prior to joining UOBVM, he was an equity and mezzanine financing specialist at PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF), a non-bank financial institution that is a joint venture between the Government of Indonesia and multilateral financial institutions. He had also worked in the private equity team at Tremendous Asia Partners (TAP Group), an Alternative Asset Investment and Management Group focused on opportunities in Southeast Asia region. He started his career with the investment banking division at PT Trimegah Securities Tbk and was involved in various underwritings and M&A transactions.

Adhi holds a Master of Science in Investments from Birmingham Business School, the University of Birmingham, UK and a Bachelor of Mathematics from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia. He is conversant in Bahasa Indonesia.


Michael joined UOBVM in 2013. As Director, he covers the key investment sectors in Southeast Asia such as Consumer, Healthcare and Technology.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Michael was at PwC performing due diligence, operational review and other professional services. He had been based in Singapore as well as Indonesia.

Michael holds a Master of Finance from Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University. He has obtained certificates in Entrepreneurship from MITx and HarvardX.


Radian has about 7 years of experience in corporate banking, project finance, and valuation advisory and has been with UOBVM since 2018. He is currently responsible for deal sourcing, evaluation, and execution.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Radian was a senior associate for valuation advisory at KPMG Siddharta Advisory in Indonesia where he was involved in various valuation projects involving venture capital, plantations, and multi-finance groups. Prior to this, he executed energy and infrastructure debt-related deals for Indonesia Infrastructure Finance, a non-bank financial institution that is a joint venture between the Government of Indonesia and multilateral financial institutions such as the World Bank and the ADB. He started his career in Maybank group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in corporate and investment banking.

Radian holds a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he was a Chevening Award winner from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom. He is a CFA charter holder.

Vietnam


Duong Minh Toan has more than 18 years of experience in the banking industry, during which he worked in UOB Vietnam for the last twelve years as Relationship Manager for Corporate and Commercial Banking. In his new position in Investment Consultancy, he is responsible for providing investment advice to foreign investors wanting to invest into Vietnam and the regional countries.

Prior to joining UOB, he worked for Shinhanbank Vietnam and Saigon Bank for Trade & Industry.

He holds Bachelor of Arts with major in English Linguistics & Literature from Ho Chi Minh City, University of Social Sciences & Humanities and Bachelor of Commerce with major in Credit & Finance from Ho Chi Minh City Banking University.

China


Fu Lei has about 20 years of working experience with UOBVM since early 2002. She has helped with the establishment of UOBVM's subsidiary and joint venture companies in China including UOBVM (Shanghai), UOB Investment (China) in Beijing, China F&B fund and its management company in Suzhou, GX Land & Sea Connectivity Fund and its GP & management company in Guangxi etc. As Head of Admin & Finance, she is in charge of the administrative, financial and personnel affairs of the Companies as well as the Corporate Law related activities.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Fu Lei was Personal Assistant to the Senior Vice-President of PCCW (Hong Kong) Properties in Beijing from 2000 to 2002. She also worked as Executive Representative in the Beijing representative office of Zen International Resources Ltd. (Canada) before 2000.

She graduated from Peking University majoring in Master of Law and holds a Bachelor of Economics from Beijing Second Foreign Language University.


Fang Jing has over fourteen years of experience in private equity investments and has been with UOBVM since 2005. As Investment Director, she is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and deal execution in China, monitoring of portfolio companies and divestment activities. 

Prior to joining UOBVM, Fang Jing worked for investment banking department in various securities firms in China, responsible for providing state-owned enterprises and private companies in China with services of M&A, IPO and financial consultancy. 

She holds a Master of Economics from Shanghai Finance & Economics University and a Bachelor of Economics from East China Normal University.


Ray Lyu has over fourteen years of experience in PE and VC investment and joined UOBVM since late 2018. As Vice general manager of GuangXi Land&Sea connectivity fund, a RMB fund managed by UOBVM, he is responsible for the investment in China.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Ray was a veteran in Chinese venture capital market and covered the industries like IC, advanced manufacture, TMT, Health Care. Prior to investment career, he worked in telecom and IT industry for 10 years.

He holds a MBA from Norwegian Business School and a Bachelor of International Trade from Shanghai Finance &Economics University.


Chun Hui has over seventeen years of experience in Venture Capital/Private Equity fund management and has been with UOBVM since 2002. He is responsible for deal sourcing, investment valuation, structuring and divestments. 

Prior to joining UOBVM, Chun Hui worked for North Pudong Co., Ltd as Manager who was responsible for business trading in China. Before that, he worked as a technician in a chemical company in China. 

He holds a MBA from Tongji University and a Bachelor of Chemistry from Beijing Institute of Technology University.


Rick has over twelve years of Venture Capital/Private Equity and secondary market investment experience and has been with UOBVM since 2015. As Associate Director, he is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and deal execution in China, including the monitoring of portfolio companies and divestment activities. 

Prior to joining UOBVM, Rick worked for the strategic investment department of Alibaba Group and private equity investment department of Far East Horizon Ltd (3360.HK), with an investment focus on the TMT, healthcare and consumer sectors. 

He holds a MBA from University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Shih Chien University in Taiwan.


Sammi Zheng has over 15 years’ experience in Energy investment, PE and Impact investment. She is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and deal execution for Asia Impact Investment Fund in China, monitoring of portfolio companies and divestment activities.

Prior to joining UOBVM, she worked with Ehong Impact Capital, responsible for fund raising, as well as impact investment, covering education and healthcare industries. Prior to impact investment career, she worked with PE capital in energy industry in Dubai and HK, in functional roles of analysis, business development and M&A for more than 8 years. She also worked as inward investment officer for UKTI in British-Consulate General Shanghai in early stage.

Sammi holds a Master degree of Accounting and Finance from University of Birmingham, UK and a Bachelor degree of Finance from Shanghai University.


Zhou Cheng has over ten years of experience in Venture Capital/Private Equity funds in China and has been with UOBVM since 2011. He is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, investment valuation, deal execution and divestments.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Zhou Cheng worded for Daiwa Shanghai Representative Office as Analyst who was responsible for investment activities in stock market. Before that, he worked at an auditor firm in China.

Zhou Cheng holds a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Finance from National University of Ireland, Maynooth.


Gao Jian has over ten years of experience in Venture Capital/Private Equity funds in China and has been with UOBVM since 2019. He is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, investment valuation, deal execution and divestments. 

Prior to joining UOBVM, Gao Jian was Investment Director of Gueva Investment Management, which focuses on investments in agricultural and consumer sectors. Before that, he worked for the private equity investment department of HIXIH Investment Co., Ltd. 

Gao Jian holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University.


Samuel Cui has over ten years of experience in private equity, corporate finance, finance due diligence and audit and has been with UOBVM since 2015. As investment manager, he is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and deal execution in China, monitoring of portfolio companies and divestment activities. 

Prior to joining UOBVM, Samuel was senior investment manager of M&A and Integration at Dentsu Aegis Group and was responsible for Greater China and North Asia. Before that, he spent 6 years as senior auditor at Ernst & Young and KPMG. 

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Northeastern University.
