Singapore, 6 December 2006
A team from UOB Venture Management Pte Ltd ("UOBVM"), UOB Asia, Singapore Exchange, Deloitte Singapore and Stamford Law Corporation was in Henan, China, to raise awareness of the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) as an overseas listing avenue for enterprises in the Henan province. An audience of 70 to 80 entrepreneurs was present and the seminar was helmed by the President of Henan Provincial Bureau of Commerce and Henan Provincial Bureau of Foreign Investment Administration, Mr. Li Qingshu as well as the Director Fan Lixin of Henan Province Small and Medium Sized Entreprise Service Bureau.
The entrepreneurs learnt more about the United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB), a leading bank in Singapore, and about the opportunities the UOB Group could provide in the area of private equity investment and underwriting. Additionally, they were briefed on the listing procedures, accounting and legal issues when filing for a listing on the SGX.
The seminar was well-received and UOBVM had several interested companies following up with queries on SGX listing and discussions on capital needs.
