NetDragon Websoft Inc., an online game developer and operator in China, announced that the open beta testing for the Traditional Chinese version of its turn-based online game "Way of the Five" launched on January 13.
Since its mainland China launch in March 2009, "Way of the Five" has been gaining popularity among players with its features, such as its cartoon style, a community system and the variety of ways available to interact with pets. In 2009, it was granted "The Best Cute-style Online Game" of Golden Plum Awards and "Top 10 Emerging Online Games" in the 2009 Online Game Ranking, further demonstrating the game's competitive edge.
Licensed to Taiwan-based Lager Network Technologies, "Way of the Five" is NetDragon's fourth online game to be offered in Traditional Chinese following Conquer Online, Eudemons Online, and Zero Online. Based on the game's popularity in mainland China, Way of the Five is expected to continue its success in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.
