Jean has close to 20 years of experience in Venture Capital/Private Equity fund management and has been with UOBVM since 2003. As Executive Director (Investment), she is responsible for making investment recommendations and decisions, monitoring of portfolio companies, seeking divestment opportunities, as well as fund raising activities. She has served or observed on the board of companies such as Austar PharmMed Consumable Limited, Bicon Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited, Cordlife Pte Ltd, Jiangxi Kangli MedLog Pte Ltd, Maccine Pte Ltd, Nanomaterials Technology Pte Ltd, and Wuxi Pharmatech Co. Ltd.

Prior to joining UOBVM, Jean spent more than 12 years at Singapore EDB Investments (“EDBI”) managing its private equity life science funds with more than 20 portfolio companies globally. During her stint at EDBI, Jean spent one year in the Silicon Valley as Director (Investments) of its VC life science fund, Singapore Bio-Innovations of America, Inc and close to one year as Vice President (Business Development) of A-Bio Pte Ltd, a contract manufacturing organization for biologics.

She holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Medicinal Chemistry degree from University College, London. She is conversant in Chinese and understands a number of Chinese dialects.
